Handle edge cases in monitoring

**Feature request**
It would be great to have logging for models.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_logging` with default `false`.

Start by locating the existing configuration handling and model execution or monitoring entry points. Clarify which model events should be logged and where logs should go, then verify that logging is disabled by default and enabled when `enable_logging` is true.
