Research direction

Start by reviewing how the Unity runtime currently handles font assignment and compare that behavior with the other runtimes mentioned in the issue. Determine whether fallback fonts can be configured or worked around today; done means the supported path or a confirmed implementation scope is documented.

Description

It seems that every other runtimes, except Flutter, supports setting a fallback font.
Is this a feature that is coming to the Unity runtime anytime soon?
Is there a workaround for using/assigning fallback fonts until the feature is implemented?
