Cannot find imports from .pth files in site-packages folder

This old issue here was fixed in the past but is occurring again. Currently, the correct search path is only used modules or packages from what I understood from the source code here. This is not enough and should be done systematically instead.

This issue typically appends when installing C++ extension modules based on CMake configuration files such as hppfcl. The compiled libraries is generally installed under the user-specified install directory instead of actual site-package. Then, this directory is added to the search path using a .pth file.
