Compilation stuck/errors on occurence of binding guards

Trying to compile this minimal example:

module Main where
x | _ <- 1 = 1

page either gets stuck on loading logo (https://try.purescript.org) or returns this error (https://try.ps.ai):

bad result. Likely communication issue with compiler: POST compile response failed to decode: There was a problem making the request: AJAX request failed: POST https://compile.purescript.org/compile

where response to request is 500 Internal Server Error.

Reproduce the minimal PureScript example in try.purescript.org and try.ps.ai, then inspect the compile request path and the POST /compile response handling. Trace whether the binding guard reaches the compiler or causes the 500 and decode failure. Done means the example no longer hangs or returns a 500, with regression coverage where the relevant path is found.
