checkout pull request hangs forever if the commands request interactive input

When I run git commands that contact GitHub I (intermittently) get prompted first, like:

Warning: the ECDSA host key for 'github.com' differs from the key for the IP address '140.82.112.3'
Offending key for IP in /home/briantist/.ssh/known_hosts:30
Matching host key in /home/briantist/.ssh/known_hosts:265
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?

I need to answer this before the command continues.

When using the "checkout pull request" feature in the extension, it sometimes works, or sometimes never completes at one of the steps it performs, often the "fetch" step, because the underlying command has an interactive prompt and the extension doesn't know how to deal with it.

I can request checkout of the PR again through the extension, and the messages will keep piling up unless one of them happens to hit an IP I already allowed.

There is no way to tell the extension to cancel the request, the only thing I've found that at least makes the message go away is to reload the entire window.

note: I understand the underlying reason for my specific prompt and have resolved it, but the issue of the extension not knowing what to do with it and requiring a reload is still a problem
