Problem with special characters ä ö ü è

Reproduce the issue in Xreader 3.6.3 on Linux Mint 21.1 using a PDF form and the Swiss German keyboard layout. Compare the field while typing with its rendering after focus moves; done means characters such as ä, ö, ü remain visible after leaving the field.

Description
* Xreader version 3.6.3
* Distribution - Mint 21.1
Issue
Special characters like "ä, ö, ü" are not shown correctly. Funny is that all other chars like $, !, {} are working normal.
Steps to reproduce
When i fill out a pdf document, i can see the special chars in the field i write in. But after clicking away (in a another field) special chars are gone. So when typing i can see "Lösen" but after changing the input field it shows only "Lsen".
Expected behaviour
It should draw special chars like ä, ö and ü.
