Research direction

Start by reproducing the stuck-Shift behavior in DOSBox-libretro with the dinput and sdl2 input drivers, using the Windows RetroArch and DOSBox versions described. Trace how paired Shift key presses and releases are mapped, and consider the issue done when releasing one Shift while holding the other no longer leaves a stuck key in the affected pinball games.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

When you press a shift key while holding down the other shift key, the release of the former is ignored. This is problematic in pinball games like "Tristan" or "Night Mission".

Tested on Windows Retroarch 1.7.3, Core DOSBox 0.7.4 21d00b5 with dinput and sdl2 input drivers (raw driver doesn't seem to map shift). Does not happen in standalone DOSBox.
