Country picker slowing down layout

Hey guys, first thanks for this cool project.

I'm having an issue where my keyboard really slows down when I click on the country picker or the Edittext view below the country picker, however, when I remove the country picker, my views works normally, but adding the picker really slows the layout down that it prevents the keyboard from leaving the screen even after closing the app. Please how do I fix this issue?

Start by reproducing the slowdown with the country picker and the EditText view, then compare keyboard and layout behavior with the picker removed. The issue is resolved when the picker no longer causes severe keyboard or layout lag and the keyboard can close normally.
