launch local App Engine without Maven

From http://gwt-plugins.github.io/documentation/gwt-eclipse-plugin/servers/AppEngine.html , it only has guide to launch GWT using maven google app engine . Does this support without using maven? I prefer the old way of using Google Plugin for eclipse which come with embeded GAE which I can test locally.
