ensure-alphabetize should add a commit with alphabetized data if needed

That would be nice.

It's easy to cause the test to fail if one forgets how `-` sorts in a word or even adds superfluous space characters.

The issue names ensure-alphabetize but gives no file, test path, or entry point. First locate that check and read its current failure behavior; done means it creates a commit containing alphabetized data only when needed and handles '-' and extra spaces consistently.
