Summary
A GitHub Copilot app project session remains listed under Needs input in the left navigation after the pending question was answered and the session reported that no further input was needed. The conversation itself is no longer waiting for a response, but the panel status does not synchronize.

Steps to reproduce
Open the project session Add receipt confidence schema and regional study.
Ask whether any input is still needed and request that the flag be removed if not.
The agent presents an ask_user choice asking which flag should be removed.
Select The session's "Input needed" status.
The agent responds: No input is needed. The session's Input needed status is cleared.
Observe the left navigation panel.
Expected behavior
After the user answers the pending prompt and the assistant completes its response without another question, the session should leave the Needs input section and move to the appropriate completed/ready state.

Actual behavior
The session remains under Needs input with the yellow question-mark indicator even though the conversation is not awaiting input. The attached screenshot supplied with the report shows the session selected under the Needs input heading.

Notes
The stale state followed an ask_user interaction that was answered successfully. This may indicate that the panel's persisted needs_input state is not cleared when the answer is consumed, when the subsequent assistant turn completes, or when session metadata refreshes. Refresh/reload behavior was not established, so the issue should be checked both as a backend state transition and as a client cache/subscription update problem.

Start at the /chat entry point and reproduce the ask_user interaction in the reported project session. Trace whether consuming the answer clears the persisted needs_input state and whether the desktop panel receives the updated session metadata. Done means the session leaves Needs input and shows the appropriate completed or ready state without requiring a reload.
