"Finding differences" feedback shouldn't be a modal dialog

When a compare editor is open in Eclipse IDE, and I do git stuff on CLI, then the compare editor will then put Eclipse in the foreground with the popup dialog "Finding differences". But this operation is really not interesting for me to know about at that time, and definitely not worth interrupting me. I only need to know that when I'm looking at the compare editor.
So the dialog should be removed, and some feedback on the editor be shown instead.
