As noted by @th0mas in https://github.com/dwyl/auth/pull/85#discussion_r488589858 we should use a Function Plug whenever we want an elegant way of reusing a particular function in the context of a Plug Pipeline / Phoenix Controller. We have created Function Plugs before in several _client_ projects but not written it up anywhere.
