please extend to enlighten correct use of HttpClientFactory

There is improving slew of guidance for ASP.NET (with all its built-in DI et al) but not simple .NET examples (this SampleHttpClient is happy exception KISS KISS).
What I would like is a minimal (real-world ish not minimalist) example to include HttpClientFactory, showing how to configure the Polly policies (retry/cctbreaker/bulkhead) to cope with normal fragile networks.
Perhaps using GenericHost (https://github.com/guardrex) for DI plumbing
