How to get clicks in video

Hi,
We have a solution where we use streams like a background image without controls. We would like users to be able to click the video to navigate to another page. But it seems that the click events inside the video/iframe will not be captured outside the player. I find various EventEmitters for different purposes but i really like one for a general click inside the video.

We have tried putting a layer on top of the video, but it does not seem to make any difference on the clickevents.

Any suggestions on how to capture the clicks, or could a click event be added to the component?
