I'm not going to try to summarise the recent Discord discussion about options here, other than to say it's necessary, and at some point it needs to be removed from the Repository entirely.
We agreed that @mikeerickson could attempt to disable it in some way when running migration from it to V2 system.
We should also check documentation for the plugin system and individual plugins too.
