How to use relations based on position

Use case: when recording a point within a polygon, they can be automatically joined using relations, so that there is no need to manually select the parent feature.

This can be done using default values for relation reference field / using an expression (overlay_* functions) that finds parent feature based on the position of the point and then use its uuid as default value.
