Magical lasso / Intelligent scissors

[Here](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/222449194_Interactive_Segmentation_with_Intelligent_Scissors) is the (I think) the original paper on Intelligent scissors. Would be cool if you could implement that. Just an edge detection algorithm and some application of it would be nice.
