Beschreibung

Your video on the shared canvas using websockets and node.js has really inspired me. I would love to see a video covering some more basics that I could expand from on my own.

Main Goal: Allow multiple users (3+) to control their own object, like a rectangle, on the screen that moves when directional keys are pressed. Trigger events when they collide. We can keep it easy and make them change color.

Extra Credit: Have a server wide object on the screen that appears for everybody, whoever touches it first gets a "point" and the object changes location. We could use the idea of the "food" object from your snake game but make the food visible to all users.

It would be a great way to learn more of the basics of node.js/websockets and then eventually we could tie what we've learned in with the Agar challenge. I could even use the Snake example to create a local "slither.io" game which would really be awesome.

Thanks for providing, what I consider, college level education for free!!

Rechercherichtung

Start with the existing shared canvas video using WebSockets and Node.js, then review the Snake example and the Agar challenge references in the issue. A completed contribution would cover the requested multiplayer movement, collision color changes, and optional shared-object scoring behavior in an instructional video.
