Update helpers documentation

Add configurable monitoring with sensible defaults.

**Priority**: Low/Medium

The issue names handlers but no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the handler implementation and any existing monitoring support, then determine how configuration and defaults are represented. Done means handlers have configurable monitoring with sensible defaults, verified by the relevant existing checks or tests.
