Description

Many readers of CLReq are more familiar with Japanese typography than Chinese typography. In some places where there are clear differences between Chinese and Japanese typography, it might be useful to add some comparisons with Japanese typography, such as the Prohibition Rules for Line Start and Line End and opening brackets at the beginning of the first line of the paragraph.

Research direction

Start with the CLReq sections on Prohibition Rules for Line Start and Line End and opening brackets at the beginning of the first paragraph line. Compare the Chinese guidance with corresponding Japanese typography, then add useful contrasts where the differences are clear and relevant.
