Description

On GNOME this should be out of the box although I have never used GNOME. There are different ways this functions on Wayland vs X iirc. The popular ones are fcitx and ibus. IIRC, there are different "backends" for some languages.

Research direction

Start by locating the relevant page in the void-docs mdBook source and determine where input methods belong. Research the GNOME setup and the Wayland versus X differences, including fcitx, ibus, and language backends. Done means the documentation clearly explains the supported approaches and incorporates the linked discussion where useful.
