Research direction

Start at Macro → Edit Macros... and compare its Shortcut control with Options → Configure TXS → Shortcuts. Done means macro shortcuts can be selected from a list, captured by pressing a combination, or entered as text, matching the ordinary shortcut workflow.

Description

enhancement
Environment
  • TeXstudio: 2.12.12 (git 2.12.10-201-gedda5655)
  • Qt: 5.9.4
  • OS: Linux Mageia
  • TeX distribution: TeX Live 2018
Actual behavior

In menu Macro → Edit Macros..., the user has to explicitly type the shortcut he wants in the "Shortcut" drop down list.

Expected behavior

It would be nice for the user to be able to select a new shortcut by one of the following ways (just as in menu Options → Configure TXS → Shortcuts):

  1. select from the dropdown list
  2. hit the shortcut combination
  3. type the string of the shortcut
