Description

We'd like to support off-heap cache.
I assume we'll have to do some work here because then the total memory requested for the Pod will be the sum of what we have for Java + Off-heap

I (@lfrancke) am happy to help here with the details, not the implementation

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating the HBase cache configuration and the operator's Pod memory/resource handling; done means off-heap or bucket cache is supported and requested Pod memory accounts for Java and off-heap usage.
