Description
I'm not certain, but when a stack of DICOM has nonuniform slice thickness, creation of a mask may be incorrect due to application of the transformation matrix to the stacked array of slices.
This occurs when a often scout image is part of a dicomdir in CT imaging, for example.

Research direction
Start by reproducing mask creation with a CT DICOM stack that includes a scout image, then inspect how the transformation matrix is applied to the stacked slices. Done means mask creation remains correct when slice thickness is nonuniform.
