Description

Documentation

The documentation mentions:

The JSON format is specified by RFC 7159 and by ECMA-404.

However, RFC 7159 was obsoleted by RFC 8259. Should we update the linked RFC?

Research direction

Start in the Python documentation for the json module at the “Standard Compliance and Interoperability” section linked in the issue. Verify the RFC reference and update it if appropriate; the documentation is done when it points to the current RFC while retaining the ECMA-404 reference. Check the linked PRs before starting, since work may already be underway.
