Description
To test the performance of a high performance computing (HPC) cluster it is helpful to have benchmark tools. One example is:
https://github.com/olcf-tutorials/MPI_ping_pong
A similar benchmark could be implemented based on executorlib to simplify the testing of HPC clusters.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the linked MPI_ping_pong example and the executorlib entry points relevant to running work on HPC clusters. Clarify the benchmark's scope, supported cluster environments, and how results should be reported; the work is done when a comparable MPI benchmark is implemented and its expected usage is documented.
