Description

Currently its possible to update the plots with updatemenus either using dropdown or buttons

In usecases where there are many groups to analyse, it is impractical to scroll through them and the buttons are out of view when its dropdown is not used. A way to filter the dropdown list based on text input would be extremely useful.

Thank you very much, really hoping to see some feature/alternative workaround to make this possible.

Research direction

The issue names updatemenus, dropdowns, and buttons but does not identify files, tests, or an entry point. Start by locating the updatemenus implementation and its related interactive-plot tests, then determine where text filtering belongs. Done means users can filter a large dropdown by typing while retaining usable plot updates and covered behavior.
