Description

Hi,

I've been using plotly.js for a few month now (great work by the way) and noticed that since 1.50 legend groups are no longer aligned. As you can see in the attached example the 5th group is not aligned with the 2nd.
Is this an expected behaviour?

Example:

Thanks,
Marc

Research direction

Start by reproducing the grouped-legend example in the linked CodePen with plotly.js 1.50 and a current build, then compare the alignment of the second and fifth groups. Trace the legend layout entry point involved in grouped legends; done means the reported groups align consistently or the behavior is explicitly documented as expected.
