It seems there are a lot of shiny-related problems that could be made easier by being able to retrieve the current state of a plot.
Maybe this could have an API that is similar in feel to plotlyProxy()
plotlyState("outputId", session, ...)
where ... could be a jq-like path to get at certain attributes
