Description
Description
Following https://github.com/php/php-src/issues/15882 there is a similar issue:
./configure --with-gdbm
make
It links the GDBM which makes PHP non-distributable.
I think all these GPL-3 licensed dependencies should be simply removed to make it easier to manage.

Research direction
Start with the ./configure --with-gdbm path and the resulting make output to trace where GDBM is added as a dependency. Done means the GDBM library is no longer linked through this option, with the build behavior and distribution impact checked against the issue's licensing concern.
