A workaround is to use -D_GNU_SOURCE

I try to dig where it is missing (zend_operators.h ?), but cannot find a proper place to add it (we already have tons of places where it is defined)

Would it be simpler to define it globally and earlier?

Comienza con Zend/zend_operators.h y la comprobación de compilación de configure que incluye php.h; después, reproduce el fallo con GCC 14 en Fedora 40. Rastrea dónde se define actualmente _GNU_SOURCE y determina el ámbito adecuado para corregir la declaración ausente de memrchr. Se considera terminado cuando la prueba de configuración indicada compila sin el workaround.
