Description
Every time I need to use pathing I get some errors that is very difficult to read.
e.g.
> facet_colcount(tbl, c("ARMCD", "*")) <- NA_integer_
Error in coltree_at_path(obj, path) : unable to match full path: ARMCD*

Research direction
Reproduce the R example using facet_colcount(tbl, c("ARMCD", "*")) <- NA_integer_ and trace the coltree_at_path(obj, path) error path. Improve the resulting message so the path mismatch and last matched path are easier to understand, then add or update a regression test for this example if the repository has one.
