Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.819.11345

What subscription do you have?

Pro

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with ChatGPT Projects synchronization between the web version and the new ChatGPT app for Windows.

Windows app version: 26.819.11345

Issue:

I have an existing ChatGPT Project in the web version. The project contains chats, uploaded files, project instructions, and uses project memory.

I am signed into the same account in the Windows app, but this project does not appear there at all.

What I have already checked:

  • The account is the same in both the web version and the Windows app.
  • I am using the new ChatGPT app for Windows, not ChatGPT Classic.
  • I have checked Chat, Work, and Codex modes.
  • In ChatGPT → Chat, the cloud project does not appear under Projects.
  • Other local/Codex projects are displayed correctly.
  • Searching in the Windows app for the exact title of an existing chat from the cloud project returns No matches.
  • The same chat and the entire project are accessible normally in the web version.
  • I have performed a full logout from the Windows app, completely closed the application, and logged back into the same account.

It therefore appears that the Windows app is not receiving my cloud-based ChatGPT Project or its associated conversations, even though they are fully accessible through the web version.

Expected behavior:

My existing ChatGPT Project should appear in the Windows desktop app together with its chats and project context.

Could you please help me determine:

  1. Why is an existing cloud Project not syncing with the Windows desktop app?
  2. Are there any restrictions or compatibility limitations for this type of Project in the Windows app?
  3. Could the Project be associated with a different workspace/context despite using the same account?
  4. Is there a way to force or reset Projects synchronization in the desktop app?

I can provide screenshots of both the web version and the Windows application, as well as any additional account or project information needed for troubleshooting.

Thank you.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Research direction

The report identifies the Windows app version and a feedback ID, but no repository file, test, or entry point. Start by determining whether Projects synchronization is implemented in this repository and whether the reported Windows app is in scope. Done would require a confirmed cause and a reproducible fix or a documented compatibility limitation.
