Research direction

Start at the score wizard and review issue #27098 for the related categorization context. Trace how the electronic instrument category is defined and presented, then add a distinct synth category that separates synths from theremin and electric strings. Done means the new category appears in the wizard and contains the intended instruments.

Your idea

In view of issue #27098, I suggest that there be a new instrument category in the score wizard, synth, which would refine the electronic section and not force people to hunt around for theremin and electric strings. (Yes, I am aware of the search bar.)

Problem to be solved

See above. The electronic section is currently almost the exclusive property of the synths.
