Description

I have seen several examples where the normalization of channels before CSP is skipped but according to the reference [2] this step is part of the general framework.

Does the mne.compute covariance function take care of the data normalization or should I take care of it before to fit CSP?

Thanks!

Research direction

Start with the mne.compute_covariance API and the CSP entry point, then compare their documented preprocessing behavior with the cited reference. Done means documenting whether channel normalization is performed automatically or must be applied before fitting CSP.
