Description

It would be nice to make our pages that give folks credit for their contributions more prominent.
A new top-level nav category "credits" could make the following pages (currently all orphans) easier to find:

  • People (suggest renaming to "leadership")
  • Credit (suggest renaming to "contributors")
  • Funding (suggest renaming to "supporters")

in #12572 @cbrnr also suggested removing the "wall of avatars" from our homepage; this category would provide a natural place to move it to (either as its own page, or as part of the "credit / contributors" page)

Research direction

Review the existing People, Credit, and Funding pages linked in the issue, along with the homepage's avatar section, before deciding the navigation and naming structure. Done means the credits category and its page placement are agreed and the affected pages and homepage content are consistently reachable under the chosen names.
