Descripción
I use Python Environments inside Cursor. In my workspace setting in `.vscode/settings.json` I set `"python.defaultInterpreterPath": "/....pyenv/versions/3.14.2/envs/venvname/bin/python"`.
This however seems to be ignored by Python Environments extension with a user setting in `/.../Cursor/User/settings.json` that automatically sets `"python.defaultInterpreterPath": "/.../.pyenv/versions/3.14.2/envs/venvname/"`, which is only the path to the folder, but we need to add `bin/python` in the end for the executable.
This results in this error when I start a debug session:
`Failed to spawn launcher: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/.../.pyenv/versions/3.14.2/envs/venvname'`.
Correcting or deleting the path in `/.../Cursor/User/settings.json` results in it being overwritten the next time I start debugpy.
The same environment is also picked automatically.
I didn't find a solution, except for not using Python Environments any more.
Python Environments 1.36.0
ms-python.debugpy 2026.6.0
ms-python.python 2025.6.1
Cursor 3.20.17
