Research direction

Open lib/mpl_toolkits/basemap/__init__.py around line 1419 and inspect the indentation affecting polygon and polygon_types construction. Reproduce a case where their lengths differ, then verify that the corrected indentation keeps both collections aligned under all relevant circumstances.
