Research direction

Start by reviewing the BottomSheetBehaviour request and the repository's existing bottom-sheet behavior. Determine whether retaining the user's stopped position is compatible with the current collapsed, expanded, and half-expanded states. Done should mean a bottom sheet can be smoothly expanded by sliding and remains where the user releases it without snapping.
