Description
Hi,
I am getting this character '☰' to not render properly for some reason, when running MacVim (in GUI mode). It renders as '[?]' Is there a way to fix that? It is not like that in iTerm2 or Alacritty (non-gui mode). Here are some more images:
Working nicely:

Broken :(

Font is the same in both cases:
DroidSansMonoForPowerline:h11
OSX, ElCapitan, MacVim binary release (151)
Thanks.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the broken ☰ character in MacVim GUI on OS X El Capitan using the MacVim binary release (151) and DroidSansMonoForPowerline:h11. Compare the result with iTerm2 and Alacritty, where it renders correctly. Done means the character renders correctly in the MacVim GUI as well.
