Description

Gathering Info

I have come across a repeatable problem that forces me to kill my Xorg process to recover.
It is not clear to me what exactly is causing this.

1- open a zip file and drag&drop an item into a "files" window where the item already exists and cancel so not to replace.
2- drag&drop the existing item into a sub-folder within the same "files" window
3- enjoy a mouse pointer that no longer works.

In this state, all other functionality seems to continue to work.
System Monitor continues to draw the graph
I can use "alt-tab" to switch apps
I can "alt-F4" to close apps but if there is a confirmation pop-up, I can not click to confirm, and if I press "tab", and "space" or "enter", I cannot activate the option to close.
I can "alt-tab" to a terminal window and type letters, but the space and enter keys do not work.

I can recover control by "control-alt-F2" and login to a text only tty
Here the behaviour is normal and when i do a kill -HUP on Xorg, I can login again to desktop but lose all the apps that were running.

I would be interested to know if anyone else can reproduce this behaviour.
