Description

Is there any way of implementing the equivalent of git remote update using libgit2sharp in its current state?
I am trying to build an application that monitors changes in the remotes of several projects, and needs to be as light and fast as possible (no fetching of objects, only references)

Thank you in advance.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the libgit2sharp remote and fetch entry points and comparing them with the behavior of git remote update. Determine whether fetching only remote references is supported in the current state; document the gap or the relevant API, with the application’s multi-project monitoring requirement as the completion criterion.
