Description

When adding a Component, as well as a fully qualified name (e.g. org.openflexure.microscope), we should add the option to include additional metadata, eg specifying it's a hardware device, software object, device type etc

This depends slightly on finding a good semantics framework, and agreeing on some instrumentation ontology.

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by evaluating a suitable semantics framework and agreeing on an instrumentation ontology for hardware devices, software objects, and device types; done means Components can accept and represent this additional metadata alongside a fully qualified name.
