remove ResultHandler

`ResultHandler` doesn't really need to exist

Start by searching the repository for ResultHandler and reading its definition and usages. Confirm whether it can be removed without changing the public API, then update affected references and run the available test suite. Done means ResultHandler is no longer needed and the project still passes its tests.
