This thread covers questions I have about feed readers and how they deal with the common issue of posts with or without titles.

What explains the inconsistency?
My own opinion is this:

If the post has a title, display it.

If it doesn't have a title, display nothing where the title would go.

Never repeat the text of a post on a page. It's confusing and makes you look stupid (imho). There's a great line in a Talking Heads song: "Say something once, why say it again?" Remember there's a human being with a mind on the other side of the screen. What this says to me is the designer of the software is angry with the person who wrote the feed so they will show something stupid to the reader and cause them to complain to the writer to make them put a title on the post (even if the post is just a short sentence).
