Dataset Title

Acoustic Events and Species Detections

Describe your dataset and any specific challenges or blockers you have or anticipate.

Drifting acoustic recorder data including set 'events' (drifts) and beaked whale detections (occurrences). This dataset was developed in last year's workshop and is mostly ready. We would like to finalize the format and use it as a template for other datasets moving forward.

Specific Questions

  1. Do we have enough information to be submitted, or are there important things missing? How do we submit?
  2. Are there important additional fields we should add that other acoustic people have used?
  3. How do these link to the underlying data (that will eventually be stored @ NCEI)?
  4. How can we make it clear that these events are recorders on drifting buoys?
  5. Related, how can we make it clear that these are passive acoustic data?
  6. Confirm that "coordinateUncertaintyInMeters" should be related to maximum potential listening distance if we cannot localize (potentially different for each species)
