Description
Feedback from Tylar Murray via helpdesk on Nov 12:
On the OBIS mapper a geometry is entered. The number of records is noted. A taxa is selected for this layer. The number of records does not change.
Expected that the number of records would decrease when taxa subset is selected.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue in the OBIS mapper by entering a geometry, noting the record count, and selecting a taxon for that layer. Trace the selection and filtering flow to determine why the count remains unchanged; done means the count decreases when a taxon subset is selected.
