Is it possible to have a non-rusty fallback for cramjam?

I am trying to fix `hashcat` for older BE systems, and `cramjam` pulls in dependency on rust (and rustc is not yet fixed for my target).

Start by examining how this Python package depends on cramjam and where Rust or rustc becomes required. Investigate whether a non-Rust fallback can support hashcat on older BE systems, then document the feasible approach and verify that installation no longer requires the unavailable Rust toolchain.
