Sync tasks aren't reported when user has the sync task as part of a `watch`

I never figured out how this could be reported properly because the process never gracefully exits during a watch - the user has to interrupt it with a SIGHUP or something.

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reproducing a synchronous task while the CLI is running in watch mode, then inspect how task status is reported when the process is interrupted with SIGHUP. Done requires a defined and verified way to report the sync task despite watch mode not exiting gracefully.
